As a small organization with sporadic and/or infrequent hiring of new graduate nurses, we have utilized collaborative nurse residency (NR) programs hosted outside our facility for many years.  I am the coordinator, the NRs are assigned a learning mentor, and the program provides structure, content, and group/peer support and interaction.  I find this to be very important , it has been successful, and a positive experience for the vast majority.  While our nurse leaders largely support NRPs and consider them our standard practice, it is not 100% consistent.

What suggestions do you have to garner support and utilization of the NRP across the organization?
